Expanding Nationally: The Sports Bra, a Sports Bar Exclusively Showcasing Women’s Sports

Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, is investing in The Sports Bra, a bar that exclusively shows women’s sports. This expansion comes as there is growing interest in women’s sports, especially with the record-breaking numbers seen in women’s college basketball. The Sports Bra’s expansion is being done in partnership with Ohanian’s organization, the 776 Foundation, which has a two-year youth program aimed at building a better future for young people.

Ohanian expressed his enthusiasm for the progress being made in women’s sports and stated that Seven Seven Six is excited to support The Sports Bra as a space where everyone can come together to celebrate the achievements of women athletes. He emphasized that 100% of the returns from this investment will be donated to support the development of future generations of women athletes.

The Sports Bra, based in Portland, has garnered a global following since its establishment by founder and CEO Jenny Nguyen two years ago. Nguyen shared her surprise at the rapid impact the bar has had on so many people and expressed a sense of momentum that the project is just beginning. With the support of Ohanian and 776, Nguyen plans to bring The Sports Bra to cities across the country and beyond, furthering their mission of investing in and celebrating women’s sports.

In light of recent milestones in women’s sports, such as the record-breaking viewership of the women’s basketball championship game which surpassed the numbers of the NBA finals, Nguyen is encouraged by the support for women’s sports and sees a bright future ahead. She envisions a world where The Sports Bra becomes a ubiquitous presence, supporting women athletes and creating vibrant communities centered around women’s sports.
