Patients in Gaza Urge the World to Hear What’s Happening Here

Dr. Mohammed “Adeel” Khaleel, a renowned orthopedic spine surgeon from Dallas, Texas, has recounted his experiences from a recent medical mission in Gaza on the podcast Deconstructed. Khaleel shared how he witnessed devastating scenes in the ICU, where children were left with bullet wounds to their chest or head. Despite the lack of hospital infrastructure in Gaza, he was amazed by the dedication of medical personnel who continue to provide aid amidst overwhelming challenges.

Khaleel returned to the United States with a powerful message for those he met: “Don’t forget us.” His firsthand account serves as a reminder of the ongoing humanitarian crisis facing the region and underscores the importance of supporting those in need, even in the most challenging circumstances. The transcript of his interview with Ryan Grim will be available soon, providing further insight into the urgent medical needs in Gaza.

Khaleel’s experience highlights the human cost of conflict and reminds us of our responsibility to support those affected by it. His stories shed light on the resilience and commitment of both doctors and patients in Gaza and serve as a call for action to address this critical issue.
