Jeffrey Lewis Scott, 33, was arrested on a petit theft charge on Wednesday after being caught on surveillance video stealing money from the tip jar at Bagel Time Cafe in Miami Beach. The cafe, located at 3915 Alton Road, had previously been in the news for someone taking down an Israeli flag hanging outside and stomping on it. This time, the thief seemed to only want someone else’s hard-earned cash.
According to Bagel Time owner Josh Nodel, the crook got away with $200. He came into the store, went to the counter and asked for a free bagel from Nodel’s wife. To add insult to injury, he then went into the tip jar where they keep large bills.
