20 Years of Building Community One Step at a Time: Mercer Health 5K Challenge Series Anniversary

The Mercer Health 5K Challenge series is a beloved tradition in Mercer County that has been going on for over two decades. This year, the series is offering something special for participants under the age of 14: free entry to all seven events.

In addition to the free entry, individual 5K shirts can be purchased separately for those who want to show off their participation in the challenge. Bundle registration is also available, allowing participants to sign up for all seven events at a discounted price of $90, essentially entering all races for the cost of six.

Each race in the series will have a unique theme to add an extra element of fun and excitement. The themes for each race are as follows: Zuma Days – Hawaiian/Luau, Country Fest – Pool Party, Redskin Classic – Patriotic, Shanes Crossing – Christmas in July, St. Clair – Neon Florescent, Lake Festival – Super Heroes, and Buzzard’s Glory – The Olympics.

Registration for all events is currently open online at www.mercerhealth5kchallenge.com. By completing at least five of the seven challenge events, participants will earn a Mercer Health 5K Challenge running tech shirt and be eligible for age group awards at the end of the series.

The Challenge series welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and abilities to join in on the fun and motivation to be more active. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the “Kids 14 and under running for free” offer and get their children involved in this exciting event series. To take advantage of the discounted rate, preregister for all seven events by June 15th before they fill up!
