KRVN 880, KRVN 93.1, and KAMI Present: Animal Science Discovery Day

The annual Animal Science Discover Day is taking place on May 29th at the NCTA Campus in Curtis, NE. This event is open to all youth aged 8-18 years old and will run from 9:00am – 3:30 pm. Participants will take part in seven different workshops taught by animal science teachers, covering topics such as meat science, calving simulation, and more.

The sessions are designed to be fun learning experiences in a relaxed atmosphere. Parents and adults interested in the livestock industry and educating youth are encouraged to register and participate as well. The cost is $15/participant for those who register and pay online by May 22, with late registrations costing $20/participant. This fee includes lunch provided by the Frontier County 4-H Council and Ag Valley Co-op.

Nebraska Extension educators, UNL Animal Science professors, and NCTA teachers will lead the sessions at the event. This is a great opportunity for youth to learn more about the livestock industry, prepare for competitions, and gain important life skills. Participants will increase their understanding of science, agricultural literacy, and technology, and be able to apply science skills to their 4-H projects and explore careers related to Animal Science.

Overall, the Animal Science Discover Day is a valuable experience for youth interested in livestock production and career opportunities in the field. With its engaging workshops and informative sessions, this event provides a unique opportunity for young people to explore their interests
