Sols 1371-1372: Journeying Southward – NASA Science

Our mission plan for today includes several observations and activities aimed at increasing our understanding of the terrain and atmosphere in the Murray formation. We will begin with a small Mastcam mosaic to capture images of nearby cross-stratification and nodules, followed by a small MAHLI mosaic of the target “Berg Aukas”. These observations will help us understand the texture and chemistry of the area.

After our drive, we will take standard post-drive imaging to provide context and aid in targeting for future observations. On the second sol, we have included an untargeted science block in our plan. This block will consist of a ChemCam autonomously selected target and a Mastcam observation to monitor the opacity of the atmosphere. By completing these tasks, we hope to gather valuable data that will contribute to our overall mission goals.
