Enteq Technologies launches multi-well testing campaign in Australia

In Australia, Enteq Technologies is currently conducting an extensive multi-well testing program after securing a long-term contractual relationship in the country. The company’s SABER Tool (Steer-At-Bit Enteq Rotary Tool) and team arrived in Australia in late March and began testing in April.

Neil Bird, VP Advanced Drilling Systems at Enteq, expressed his excitement about the tool’s development over five years and emphasized how field trials are essential for further enhancing its capabilities. The SABER Tool has been tested in various operating environments in Norway and at the Catoosa Test Facility in Oklahoma last year.

Enteq CEO Andrew Law highlighted the potential of the SABER Tool to disrupt the directional drilling market, with positive conversations happening globally with industry leaders who see the transformational benefits it can bring. The tool’s unique internally directed fluid pressure differential system for steering offers improved reliability and operational efficiency, making it suitable for various applications like hydrocarbon production, geothermal energy, methane capture, and carbon storage.

The transportability of the SABER Tool was also praised as it can be easily transported within the luggage allowance for flights. This feature makes it ideal for remote applications, earning it the nickname “an RSS in a suitcase.” The company’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in product development is driving a growing interest in the market for the SABER Tool.
