Applications now open for Tampa Bay Wave’s 2024 HealthTech|X Accelerator program

The HealthTech|X Accelerator program, backed by a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), has been announced by Tampa Bay Wave. This program will officially launch on July 22, 2024 in Tampa with the goal of fostering innovation and supporting high-potential healthtech startups in the region and beyond.

The HealthTech|X Accelerator is a non-profit program that offers a 90-day immersive experience with one-on-one mentoring, pitch coaching, and investment readiness training. Sponsors of the program include The Florida High Tech Corridor and USF Research & Innovation, as well as Foley & Lardner and Levo Health. Partners for the program include the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council (EDC) and the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS).

Linda Olson, CEO of Tampa Bay Wave, expressed excitement about opening the application process and inviting innovative healthtech startups to join the program in advancing healthcare technology in the region. This program aligns with the broader vision of the Tampa Medical and Research District, a growing hub of clinical care, academics, research, and biotechnology. Anchored by Tampa General Hospital and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, this district aims to build an inclusive ecosystem to attract talent and innovation, ultimately serving as a catalyst for job creation and a healthier, more prosperous region.
