World’s Largest Airport Terminal to be Constructed by Dubai’s Ruler | Aviation News

Dubai International Airport, which has been the world’s busiest airport for international travel for the past decade, is set to be replaced by a new $35 billion terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport. The new terminal will have a capacity of 260 million passengers annually and will be five times the size of the current airport. This move is part of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision to create an entire city around the airport in Dubai South.

The new city will feature housing for a million people and opportunities for leading companies in logistics and air transport. The project is geared towards future generations, ensuring continuous development for Dubai’s children and grandchildren. Once completed, Al Maktoum International Airport will become the world’s largest airport, port, urban hub, and global center.

The new terminal will feature five parallel runways and 400 aircraft gates, making it perfect for Emirates airline to call its new home. CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, sees this as a bold step towards expanding Dubai’s aviation infrastructure.

Dubai has always been known for its ambitious projects and this latest move is no exception. With its focus on sustainability and growth, the emirate continues to position itself as a key player in the aviation industry.
