During my recent trip to Ottawa, I was thrilled to discover that the city has much more to offer than just Parliament Hill. I had the pleasure of meeting with a diverse range of professionals from various industries, including home builders, steelmakers, software entrepreneurs, a battery innovator, an electric bus operator, and several AI players. It was a privilege to meet Sir Terry Matthews, known as the granddaddy of Silicon Valley North. This experience gave me valuable insight into Ottawa’s dynamic economy.

One of the most significant takeaways from my visit was the creativity and ingenuity of the local business community. The city is home to a wide range of industries, from technology to manufacturing, and it was inspiring to see how they are driving economic growth in the region. Ottawa’s tech sector is particularly vibrant and attracting top talent, fostering a culture of innovation that is propelling the industry forward. Companies like the battery innovator and AI players that I met are at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, making it clear that Ottawa is a leader in this space.

Overall, my visit to Ottawa was eye-opening and insightful. The city’s dynamic economy, diverse industries, and culture of innovation make it a truly unique and exciting place to visit. I look forward to seeing how Ottawa continues to grow and evolve in the future as it remains one of Canada’s most innovative cities.
