In a bid to support struggling small and early-stage businesses, the Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has received $675,423 in funding from the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). The Division of Small Business (DSB) in the state collaborated with SBDC to secure this funding, which is part of a larger ten-year, $60 million award granted to the state by the US Treasury Department in 2023.
The SBDC will use this funding to provide technical assistance to small business owners in need of support. This includes one-on-one technical advising and training sessions that focus on financials, best accounting practices, and legal requirements. The aim is to help entrepreneurs gain access to funding and achieve success.
