Congressman Cohen reveals $21.3 million in Department of Health and Human Services Grants

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) announced that Memphis Health Center Inc., Porter-Leath, and the Shelby County Board of Education have been awarded grants totaling $21,309,797 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Board of Education will receive $14,553,699 for its Head Start programs, while Porter-Leath will receive $1,385,603 to operate its programs. Memphis Health Center will receive $5,370,495 to support its initiatives.

In a statement, Congressman Cohen expressed his satisfaction with the significant investment from the federal government, particularly highlighting the funding for Head Start programs. According to him, these programs play a crucial role in helping young students prepare for school and navigate the complexities of the world. He stated that this funding will have a positive impact on the community and improve the lives of many individuals.
