Local Business Owners Express Concern Following Shooting at Eastgate Circle on Friday | Local News

On Friday morning, a 27-year-old man was shot near the Eastgate Town Center in Chattanooga. According to Victor Miller with the Chattanooga Police Department, the incident happened around 10:00 am in the parking lot of the Eastgate Town Center area. The victim was walking towards a business when a suspect or suspects began shooting at him. He was shot and transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

We spoke with a person who was inside of the Tennessee Community Counseling Services and DUI school at the time of the shooting. They told us they heard two gunshots and that the victim came inside the building. Across the parking lot from where the shooting happened is Molly Maid. Sheena Crow, office manager, said she heard the shots fired while in her office. “I was in my office and heard some pop, pop, pop but it didn’t occur to me what it might be,” she said. “Then I heard firetrucks and ambulances so I went outside and saw all the commotion.”

After learning about what happened, Crow couldn’t help but think about another shooting that occurred on Brainerd Road just weeks ago at T-Mobile store. Two shootings in such a short amount of time raises questions, she said, adding that her business has been taking steps to keep their doors locked at all times now for safety concerns. “Our girls have keys to get in and out to make sure our doors are able to stay locked,” Crow added.
