Canada comes from behind to defeat USA in thrilling gold medal match at U18 world hockey championship

In the under-18 men’s world hockey championship, Canada and Sweden battled for supremacy. Canada emerged victorious with a 6-4 win over the United States, earning their fifth title since the tournament began in 1999. Gavin McKenna scored a hat trick and assisted in the victory, while Cole Beaudoin and Tij Iginla also contributed goals in the third period to overcome an early 3-1 deficit. Ryder Ritchie added another goal, and Goalie Carter George made 31 saves to secure the win for Canada.

On the other hand, Sweden shut out Slovakia 4-0 in the bronze medal match. Love Harenstam stopped all 36 shots he faced, while Lucas Pettersson broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the third period. Followed by goals from Melvin Fernstrom, Alfons Freij, and Victor Eklund. Alan Lendak made 25 saves in net for Slovakia.

It was an exciting day of competition at the under-18 men’s world hockey championship as both teams gave it their all to come out on top. In the end, it was Canada that took home the gold and Sweden earning the bronze medal.
