Men’s golf and women’s water polo secure 2nd place in Pac-12 rankings

On a busy weekend, various Cal sports teams made significant strides in their respective competitions. The Cal men’s golf team finished second at the Pac-12 championships in Arizona, with Ethan Fang, Sampson Zheng, and Eric Lee placing in the top-13 individually. This marked the best finish for the Bears since 2016 and increased hopes of earning a bid to the NCAA regionals in May.

The Cal women’s water polo team also had an impressive weekend as they secured a runner-up spot at the MPSF championships after advancing to the title game for the first time since 2011. Standout players like Rozanne Voorvelt and Mary Dempsey made significant contributions with their goal-scoring efforts. The Bears will now host the NCAA Championships at the Spieker Aquatics Complex for the first time, adding to their excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead.
