Multiple fatalities reported in flooding incidents.

In southern Brazil, a natural disaster has struck, forcing over 24,000 people to flee their homes due to floods and mudslides. Tragically, the death toll has risen to 39 as heavy rain continues to cause devastation in the region.

Rescue workers are working tirelessly to search for those missing, using boats and airplanes to assist in their efforts. However, conditions remain challenging as they navigate through collapsed houses, bridges, and roads.

The state of Rio Grande do Sul has been hit particularly hard by the disaster, with over 70 people injured and nearly 70 still missing. Flooding has cut off access to major highways, and dams across the state are under strain, threatening the city of Porto Alegre with unprecedented flooding.

Many communities are facing disruptions in essential services like drinking water, electricity, and communication connections. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has promised that there will be no shortage of aid and supplies to support those impacted by the disaster.

Residents in towns like Eldorado do Sul have been forced to flee their homes, seeking refuge from the rising floodwaters. The situation remains dire as rescue efforts continue and the risk of dam collapses looms.
