Austin FC is slated to host the 2025 MLS All-Star Game

The 2025 Major League Soccer Game is set to take place in Austin, Texas as reported by ESPN on Monday. Austin FC, the city’s Major League Soccer team, is currently in advanced negotiations with the league to host the event at Q2 Stadium. The team is close to finalizing legal contracts for the game, which is expected to take place next summer.

Unlike traditional North American all-star games, the MLS All-Star Game features the best of MLS competing against select players from an international club or another league. Austin FC, an expansion team founded in 2018 and began playing in the 2021 season and became the first major professional sports team in the Texas capital.

Austin FC made it to the Western Conference Final in 2022 but was defeated by LAFC with a score of 3-0. Q2 Stadium, where the 2025 MLS Game is expected to be hosted, has a seating capacity of 20,738. The Columbus Crew will host the 2024 game at Lower.com Field where MLS All Stars will face off against Liga MX superstars on July 24th. In the previous year, MLS team suffered a 5-0 defeat to Arsenal FC of Premier League
