On Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves placed All-Star second baseman Ozzie Albies on the injured list due to a broken big toe on his right foot. The injury occurred during a game against the Houston Astros when Albies was hit by a pitch from Astros starter Spencer Arrighetti. The pitch bounced off Albies’ right foot, causing him to fall to the ground. Despite being injured, Albies continued playing in the game but was later diagnosed with a fractured toe.

Albies spoke with reporters after the hit-by-pitch and said he initially believed he had a deep bone bruise but was unaware that his toe was actually broken.
