Apple announces date for new iPads: Here’s what to expect

Apple has announced a new product announcement event set for May 7 at 5pm ET, which will be exclusively online. The invitation image featuring the Apple Pencil suggests that iPads will be the main focus of this virtual event. Rumors abound that the iPad Pro will see significant upgrades in 2021, including an OLED display and a slight increase in screen size up to 13 inches for the largest model. An update to the chipset is also expected with the new M3 chip and a possible horizontal relocation of the front camera.

In addition, new Apple Pencil and a redesigned Magic Keyboard with an aluminum frame and larger trackpad are expected to be launched. It is likely that new iPad Air models will also be introduced, including a larger 12.9-inch version alongside the classic 10.9-inch model, both equipped with the M2 chip. It remains unclear whether updated versions of the basic iPad and iPad mini will also be showcased during the event.

The upcoming product announcement event promises to be an exciting showcase of Apple’s latest innovations in tablet technology. The presentation is set to unveil improvements to the iPad Pro, iPad Air, as well as potential updates to other iPad models.
