Enhancing Security Measures in County Offices Through Advanced Weapon Detection Technology

Geauga County offices have partnered with two local school districts to enhance campus security by implementing the ZeroEyes system. This advanced technology utilizes artificial intelligence to detect the presence of a firearm, even if only 0.1% of the weapon is visible to surveillance cameras.

On April 30, a demonstration of the ZeroEyes system was held at the Geauga County Office Building on Ravenwood Drive. During the event, Brett Handell, Vice President of Education and Local Government Solutions at ZeroEyes, explained how the AI system is integrated into the existing network of security cameras in the area. The system is currently being used in Berkshire and Chardon school districts and has proven to be effective in enhancing security measures.

The ZeroEyes system works by analyzing data from video feeds captured by security cameras to identify potential threats. If a firearm is detected, an alert is sent immediately to ZeroEyes’ security team, allowing for quick and appropriate responses to potential threats. This advanced technology aims to provide a safer environment for students, staff, and visitors in participating school districts and county offices.
