Renner Behavioral Health Clinic’s Grand Opening in Moundsville – News, Sports, Employment opportunities

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house were held recently to celebrate the launch of the new Renner Behavioral Health Program at the former Teletech building in Moundsville. The program, a collaboration between WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital, opened about a month ago in the renovated space.

The event was hosted by the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce and attended by community officials and dignitaries. WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital received a $2.25 million grant from the Renner Foundation to establish the program, with some of the funds used to renovate the clinic space.

During his speech, Douglass Harrison, president and CEO of WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital, highlighted the pressing need for behavioral health services in West Virginia and across the country. He urged physicians to break down stigma around mental health and encouraged them to initiate referral processes for individuals requiring mental health services.

Marshall County Commission President Mike Ferro expressed pride in having WVU Medicine expand its services in their community and acknowledged the significance of this new program. He emphasized that mental health is just as essential as physical health, marking an important step towards addressing mental health needs in the region.
