Xfinity Series Saturday Cup Schedule Announced for Talladega Superspeedway

NASCAR racing is back at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday with two national series in action. The Xfinity teams will race on the 2.66-mile superspeedway, while Cup teams will qualify for Sunday’s 500-mile race. ARCO Menards Series teams will also be on track for a Saturday afternoon race. Jeb Burton is the defending winner of the Xfinity race at Talladega and has two wins there since 2021, making him one of the favorites to win again this year. AJ Allmendinger is also in the lineup with an Xfinity win at Talladega, but he is the only other driver with such an achievement.

Jesse Love and Austin Hill are Richard Childress Racing’s Xfinity lineup. Hill leads the series with six wins on drafting style tracks, but he has not finished better than 14th at Talladega in four starts. Chevrolet has won all nine Xfinity races at Talladega since 2021, with Kaulig Racing contributing four of those wins. Ford has not won an Xfinity race there since 2017, and Toyota has not won since 2014. This weekend marks the third race of the Dash 4 Cash program, where Sam Mayer, Ryan Sieg, Justin Allgaier, and Allmendinger are competing for a $100,000 bonus.

The forecast for Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway is cloudy skies with possible rain showers throughout the day. The high temperature will reach 75 degrees with a 50% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race. Chase Elliott has stated that they still want to be better and have room for improvement after their recent performance at Bristol Motor Speedway.

On Saturday, April 20th, the garage will open at 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with ARCO Menards Series starting at 10 a.m., followed by Xfinity Series racing starting at 1 p.m., and Cup Series qualifying from 1:30 p
