On Monday, the boys and girls lacrosse Class 2A-District 12 semifinals took place. In boys lacrosse, Venice defeated Riverview 11-5 with Aiden Sleigher leading the way for Venice with 4 goals and 3 assists. John Ptaszek followed with 3 goals, while Owen Alford had a goal and 3 assists, and Alex Denley contributed 2 goals and an assist. Alex Ptaszek made 14 saves in goal for Venice. In girls lacrosse, Saint Stephen’s defeated Out-of-Door Academy 16-6, improving to 14-1 with the win. Next up for both teams are district titles: Venice will face Gulf Coast on Wednesday at 7 p.m., while Saint Stephen’s will host St. Petersburg Catholic on Wednesday at the same time.
