The USFL season has kicked off and already, one team has secured a playoff spot. The Birmingham Stallions clinched their place in the conference championship game with a 39-21 victory over the Memphis Showboats. Despite having only 5,609 fans in attendance, the Stallions have remained undefeated at 6-0 and cannot be caught by the struggling Showboats or Roughnecks.
The Michigan Panthers are currently leading the other conference with a 3-2 record, but either the Showboats or Roughnecks could potentially catch up if they win out. However, it will be difficult for them to do so given that both teams have struggled so far this season.
In contrast, the St. Louis Battlehawks lead their conference with a solid 5-1 record, followed closely by San Antonio at 4-1 and D.C. at 2-3. The Arlington Renegades are struggling and remain winless at 0-5. As the season continues, it will be fascinating to see how the playoff picture unfolds and which teams will ultimately compete for the UFL championship title.
