Driving Change Together: Chair File on Accelerating Health Equity

The AHA Community Health Improvement (ACHI) network and the American Heart Association’s Institute for Diversity and Health Equity (IFDHE) are bringing together over 1,000 participants in Kansas City, Mo., to discuss driving change together in health equity. This year’s theme highlights the importance of collaborative leadership from hospitals, health systems, public health departments, and community-based organizations to ensure equitable access to quality health care for all individuals.

The conference features a diverse lineup of plenary speakers, breakout sessions, and immersion experiences that will cover crucial topics such as building and maintaining community partnerships, addressing complex health and social needs, promoting diversity within leadership teams, and fostering inclusivity in the workplace. Community immersion experiences will allow participants to visit local organizations in Kansas City and witness community health improvement efforts firsthand.

Healthcare challenges are multifaceted, and no single entity can solve them alone. By collaborating with community partners, progress towards health equity can be accelerated.
