Uber appeals reclassification of couriers as salaried workers

Uber Eats delivery drivers have been reclassified as salaried employees by the Commission for the Regulation of the Employment Relationship (CAR). This decision was made in December 2023, after three couriers questioned whether Uber’s requirement for them to register as self-employed individuals was legal. The committee ruled in favor of the delivery drivers, stating that their freedom was limited and ordered for them to be reclassified as salaried workers.

Uber expressed regret over the decision, noting that it only applies to the three individuals in question. The company highlighted that thousands of independent couriers choose their app for the flexibility it offers in deciding when, where, and how much they want to work. A spokesperson stated that they will be appealing the decision.

However, Uber is not alone in this fight. Various websites and profiles were mentioned in the content, providing information on different topics such as concrete, slot games, library jobs, and legal support. Each link directs to a different platform or profile related to the mentioned topics. It seems like these platforms are also fighting against similar decisions made by regulatory bodies around the world.
