Meissner Secures First World Triathlon Cup Victory in Samarkand by Taking Control

Germany’s Lena Meissner has just secured her first World Cup podium win in Samarkand after a long journey since her bronze medal at the 2022 Championship Finals in Abu Dhabi. On Saturday, Meissner proved herself once again with a dominating performance on the race course.

Meissner, along with Therese Feuersinger, Zuzana Michalickova, and Jessica Fullagar, took the lead during the swim. The quartet quickly moved onto the bike segment, where the race eventually became a battle between Meissner, Fullagar, and Feuersinger. Despite the tough competition, Meissner and Fullagar managed to run together for most of the 10km run. In the end, Meissner pushed through and secured the victory, with Sweden’s Tilda Mansson finishing in third place with the fastest run split of over two minutes.

The race results are in, and a full report will be available soon detailing the exciting events that unfolded during the competition.
