Swan Valley Outperforms John Glenn

Swan Valley and Bay City John Glenn faced off in a Tri-Valley Conference baseball matchup on Tuesday, with the Vikings emerging victorious in the first game with a score of 11-1. However, rain interrupted the second game in the third inning, leaving both teams hoping to resume the doubleheader on Wednesday.

In the first game, Joey Miller pitched a five-inning complete game, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out six. Lucas Ordway led the offense with three hits, two RBIs, and two runs. Jaxon Hartley, Colton Klein, and Aaron Smith also contributed with two RBIs each for the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Chesaning dominated Durand in softball action on Tuesday, winning both games by impressive margins. In the first game, Izzy Popilek threw a no-hitter and struck out nine batters while also hitting three and driving in three runs. Ava Devereaux led the offense with three hits and a homer for four RBIs and three stolen bases. Brezlyn Struck followed up with a one-hitter and struck out five batters in the second game. Marenda Jones scored three runs after having four stolen bases and two hits, Abbey VanHaaren had two hits and scored twice, while Kalyn Trevino drove in four runs after having two hits. Nicole Neumann added to their wins by scoring three runs while stealing four bases.
