Top performers from Week 9 of spring sports in the Memphis area high schools

The Memphis area high school sports top performers for Week 9 of the 2024 season have made outstanding contributions to their teams.

In baseball, Caleb Doty of Lausanne was the winning pitcher for his team in a 10-0 victory over ECS. Doty allowed three hits in five innings and also went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. His teammates Warner Johnson and Collin Woods also had notable performances with two hits each. At Trezevant, Larry Hampton had a standout game, going 3-for-3 with a homer, six RBIs, and four runs scored in a 20-4 win against East. Hampton’s teammates Damarious Reed and Preston Reed also made significant contributions with RBIs and runs scored.

In softball, Ashlyn Bartholomew of Arlington went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in an 8-7 victory over Munford. Gabby Brewer was the winning pitcher for Arlington, while Breleigh Bunker had two hits. Addie Graham of Arlington had an impressive game, going 4-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs, and four runs scored. Laney Lawson of Brighton was the winning pitcher for her team, striking out eight in a 4-2 victory over St. Benedict. Lola Sprenkle and Addie Thorpe of Tipton-Rosemark Academy (TRA) also had standout performances with RBIs and hits.

On Monday, Jennifer McGregory of Bartlett had two hits in a 10-6 victory over ECS, while Molly Williams went 2-for-4 with two RBIs
