Skytrax names this airport as the cleanest in the world

According to the Skytrax World Airport Awards, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport has been named the cleanest airport in the world. The organization recognized Haneda for its exceptional cleanliness, including its floors, seating, public areas, and restrooms. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, airport cleanliness has become a top priority for travelers worldwide.

In addition to being named the cleanest airport in the world, Haneda was also ranked as the fourth best overall airport by Skytrax. Airports that maintain high standards of cleanliness are highly regarded by travelers. The top 10 cleanest airports were dominated by Asia, with nine of them located in the region. Japan had four airports on the list, including Centrair Nagoya, Tokyo Narita, and Kansai.

Skytrax also named the top cleanest airport in each region around the world. Vancouver was named North America’s top cleanest airport while Quito was recognized as South America’s best. Juan Santamaría won Central America and Caribbean’s title while Cape Town received Africa’s award. Brisbane was Australia/Pacific’s top cleanest airport while Shanghai Hongqiao took home China’s honors. Baku claimed Central Asia’s spot while Bangalore won India and South Asia’s title. The winners of these regional categories also topped their overall rankings: Tokyo Haneda in Asia, Zurich in Europe and Doha Hamad in Middle East respectively.
