The softball team of Union-Endicott improved their record to 13-0 with a thrilling extra-innings victory against Seton Catholic Central. The Tigers trailed 3-0 in the game but staged a comeback, tying the match with three runs in the fifth inning. Ultimately, they emerged victorious in the ninth inning when Lisa Jones hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Lisa Lamey who had advanced to third on Michelle Wolf’s bunt for a single. At that point, the team’s collective batting average was .344, with Caren Osier leading the way with a .529 average.

Meanwhile, Johnson City defeated Susquehanna Valley in an exciting STAC division showdown with a 6-5 win. Johnson City scored three runs in the sixth inning, starting with Tina Stanton’s home run. Lori Czeitner and Brenda Mott also scored in that inning, with Cris Charpinsky hitting a two-out double to bring them home. This win solidified Johnson City’s position as one of the top teams in the league.
