Junior World Championships in Italy Attract Skiers from Winter Park

Two talented skiers from Winter Park Competition Center, Asher Michel and Olivia Maurais, are set to compete at the Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships in Valmalenco, Italy. They will be representing the Stifel U.S. Freestyle Ski Team and U.S. Ski & Snowboard at the esteemed event which will take place from April 3-6 at the Chiesa Resort.

Asher Michel has had an impressive career, with a successful run in 2023 where he won gold in the team dual moguls race and placed third in moguls. He has continued his excellent performance this season, earning gold in dual moguls at the NorAm Cup at Stratton Mountain Resort on March 2.

Olivia Maurais is also a force to be reckoned with, having had a strong season competing in multiple NorAm and World Cup events. She placed ninth in moguls at the U.S. Freestyle National Championships and fifth in moguls at the NorAm Cup at Deer Valley Resort. Maurais showcased her skills by winning third place at Winter Park Resort before a home crowd.

Both Michel and Maurais have been working hard to prepare for this prestigious competition, and their performances will be closely watched by fans and competitors alike as they aim to make their mark on the international stage and bring home more accolades for themselves and their team.
