Shedeur Sanders draft rumors: Colorado QB would have been QB1 in 2024 over Caleb Williams, says NFL evaluator

In the aftermath of the 2024 NFL Draft, attention has shifted to the upcoming class of 2025. One player who has caught the eye of experts is Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL star and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders. According to a recent mock draft from CBS Sports NFL Draft expert Ryan Wilson, Sanders is projected as the top pick for the 2025 class.

Despite a strong start to his career at Jackson State, Sanders decided to transfer to Colorado with his father. In his time at Colorado, he led a high-powered offense that averaged 30.8 points per game. However, the defense struggled and gave up an average of 38 points per game. Despite not entering the 2024 draft, Sanders was highly regarded by NFL evaluators and considered a first-round pick had he gone through the process.

Sanders’ impressive performance on the field has been praised by some evaluators, who have called him a potential top selection for the 2025 class. Others have expressed concerns about managing him differently due to his father’s involvement in the program. However, most agree that Sanders has shown talent and winning mentality in his time at both Jackson State and Colorado.
