Teoscar Hernández aids Dodgers in victory over Marlins with a 3-1 finish

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ impressive performance continued as they defeated the Miami Marlins 3-1 in a quick game that lasted just 1 hour and 55 minutes. Teoscar Hernández’s two-run homer in the sixth inning was a key moment in the game, driving in all three runs for the Dodgers.

Starting pitcher Gavin Stone was solid, giving up only one run on six hits with four strikeouts. Bryan De La Cruz scored the only run for Miami with a solo home run in the fourth inning. The Dodgers’ starting rotation has been impressive during their homestand, with five starters going at least six innings and posting a 2.33 ERA with 31 strikeouts and only four walks.

Daniel Hudson closed out the game with his second save, retiring the Marlins in order. Weathers took the loss for Miami, allowing three runs and five hits in six innings. Injuries continue to impact Miami, with RHP Edward Cabrera being placed on the injured list for the second time this season while LHP Braxton Garrett was reinstated from the IL and will start on Sunday against Philadelphia.

The Marlins will next face off against their division rival Philadelphia Phillies, who are coming off a series win over San Francisco Giants. Trevor Rogers will start for Miami on Friday as they look to bounce back from this defeat. The Dodgers will travel to San Diego to take on Padres, who have been struggling recently but still have RHP Tyler Glasnow ranked tenth in National League ERA starting for them.
