Mahomet Entrepreneurs Plan to Construct Flex-Warehousing Facility on 10-Acre Site

Mahomet-based business The Brush Man has finally found the space it needs to grow, thanks to a new development approved by the city council. Owner Dave Monahan plans to build a 25,000 square-foot flex warehouse location on Lake of the Woods Road in east Mahomet. The nearly 10-acre site will also provide space for office and commercial warehouse sites for other companies.

The Brush Man, which was started in 1976 and purchased by Monahan in 2009, sells job-site supplies wholesale such as brooms, trash bags, and paint brushes. Monahan’s struggle to find appropriate land in Mahomet was resolved by this new development, preventing him from looking into other communities. Construction is set to begin in the fall, bringing new opportunities for businesses and tenants in Mahomet.

Involvement from real estate company Guth & Associates will assist in marketing and leasing the new spaces. The goal of the flex space is to cater to different types of tenants, from those looking to store personal items like vintage cars to contractor-based businesses in need of office and storage space. The project fills a need to keep businesses in the community and will bring something new to the area.

Village Administrator Patrick Brown sees this development as a win for Monahan’s company and the village. He believes that it will help attract more businesses and create new jobs in Mahomet. With this move, The Brush Man can continue growing its business while providing additional opportunities for other companies and entrepreneurs in the community.
