Finns facing significant variations in electricity bills with basic payment reaching €40 per month

Electricity transfer fees vary significantly between companies, according to a report by Omakotiliitto. The survey conducted by the organization compared electricity transmission prices and found that the basic fee for transfer ranges from EUR 4.70 at the cheapest to EUR 40.66 at the most expensive per month. Järvi-Suomen Energia had the highest basic fee for transfer, followed by Kajave (39.5 euros per month) and Koorevesi Sähkö (39.48 euros per month). On the other hand, Kerava Energy had the cheapest basic fee, followed by Tampereen Energia Sähköverkola and Haukiputaa Sähkoosuuskunnta.

The Energy Agency confirmed a new supervision model last year to oversee the pricing of electricity transmission companies, which has faced opposition from many companies. Chairman of the Association of Homeowners, Ari Rehnfors, expressed his desire for more drastic measures to lower electricity transmission prices, stating that the current control model favors monopoly companies. The survey on electricity transmission prices was conducted by Omakotiliito KTI Kiinteistötieto.

When comparing energy fees for electricity transmission, Enontekiö Sähkö had the most expensive price at 6.75 cents per kilowatt-hour while Rovakaira had the cheapest at 1.69 cents per kilowatt-hour. According to Omakotiliitto’s report, spending habits and living situations determine whether individuals focus on their electricity bill’s basic transfer fee or energy fee. Almost half of companies surveyed increased their prices since last year while two lowered them and 37 kept it unchanged.

In conclusion, this report highlights significant variations in electricity transfer fees among companies and emphasizes the need for fair and transparent pricing policies.
