PARKERSBURG — As a young girl, Kamryn Sallee looked up to the Parkersburg South Higher College Southern Belle dance group and hoped she would a single day dance along side them.

“Dancing is some thing I have normally loved, and I normally looked up to the Southern Belles when I was a tiny girl,” stated Sallee.

Sallee has been a element of the Southern Belle group all 4 years of her higher college profession and has performed at residence football and basketball games, as nicely as parades and other events. Sallee feels blessed to be a element of the group as it has helped her develop. This year, the Belles got second spot in the National Dance Alliance Nationals competitors.

“The Belles group has been a blessing to me. It has in the end taught me who I am as I’ve grown by way of the years,” she stated. “I adore my group so significantly and it will be challenging possessing to leave them when I graduate.”

Sallee finds comfort by way of dance, art and photography. She took art as a filler class throughout her junior year and fell in adore.

“I adore my teacher,” she stated. “Mrs. (Stacey) White introduced me and was my most significant critic when I initial began, she knew that I could make awesome art just before I did.”

Sallee likes to make art that is enjoyable and vibrant. She feels inspired by Impressionism and the art of Claude Monet.

“I think that if you do not have enjoyable making the piece of art, then you will not adore the outcome no matter how great it may well be,” she stated.

Sallee won “Best Use of Color” in the PSHS Art Show with a single of her pieces and initial spot in the Wood Whispers contest with a different.

Sallee is a three.eight GPA student at PSHS. She has taken many honors and college courses to assistance her prepare for her college profession. This year she is taking photography and graphic style college courses on the net at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

Sallee will continue her education at WVU-P following graduation. She plans to big in enterprise.

“I’ve normally been a leader and somebody who requires charge, and the believed of operating my personal enterprise is some thing that has normally interested me,” she stated.
