The Russian advancement beyond Avdiivka is growing

In recent developments, Russian forces have made a significant breakthrough on the front west of Avdiywka. Following an advance from the town of Otscheretyne, they were able to capture Novobachmutivka. While these towns may appear small, this achievement could mark the beginning of a broader advance by the Russian military.

The Ukrainian defense line south of Novobachmutivka is currently under threat, prompting the Ukrainian armed forces to consider moving another ten kilometers west to form a new defensive line on the Vovcha River. Meanwhile, Russian troops are continuing their advances north and northwest of Otscheretyne, gaining manageable terrain. These gains could have a substantial impact on the battlefield and lead to further advances in the future.

The 115th Mechanized Brigade of Ukraine is being held responsible for the Russian breakthrough. The brigade has been blamed for lack of fresh forces, artillery ammunition, and defensive systems as contributing factors to the breakdown in their defenses. Additionally, Russian FAB bombs equipped with navigation systems have been causing damage to Ukrainian positions.

With pressure mounting on Ukrainian forces to complete a larger defense line that is currently under construction, there are concerns about a major Russian offensive in the coming weeks near Avdiywka. The 47th Mechanized Brigade is heavily involved in defending this sector and faces challenges from Russian drone technology and armored units.

The Supreme Commander of Ukraine has acknowledged a significant deterioration in the situation on the Eastern Front. Military intelligence predicts that things will only get worse in the near future, suggesting that Ukrainian forces will have to prepare for an even more challenging period ahead as they combat Russian advances and technological capabilities.
