Progress on Health Initiatives in Rome

Rome Health is currently working on a new project to improve healthcare services in the Mohawk Valley. The $45.7 million project involves constructing a 30,000-square-foot, three-floor addition to the hospital, which will replace the aging operating rooms and intensive care units and bring them up to modern standards. This investment is part of ongoing progress at Rome Health, which has undertaken several major projects in the past four years with funding from a combination of public and private sources.

Since 2019, Rome Health has observed an increase in the number of patients seeking services. The hospital’s COO, Ryan Thompson, mentioned that all services have grown by nearly 30% during this time. The new project at Rome Health is intended to address this rising need for care by modernizing the facilities and creating a seamless flow from pre-procedure to post-procedure care. By doing so, the hospital aims to improve efficiency and expand its capacity for patients.

Rome Health remains committed to providing quality care to the community while continuously improving its facilities and services. With nearly $44 million raised through public funding and private philanthropy, the hospital is close to reaching its fundraising goal for the capital campaign. The goal of Rome Health is to ensure that the community has access to the necessary healthcare services in a sustainable manner.
