Argentina extends assistance to Brazil following flooding in Rio Grande do Sul

The Brazilian government has received a pledge of full cooperation from the Argentine government to assist the victims of the floods in the southern region. In response to the severe floods that hit Rio Grande do Sul, Argentina has mobilized resources from its Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Security, and White Helmets Commission. These resources include a team of 20 police officers and dogs, logistics experts from the White Helmets Commission, a transport plane, and three helicopters for evacuations and transfers.

Furthermore, Argentina has deployed a mobile medical team with health professionals, Navy tactical divers, engineering units with boats, and two water purification plants to aid in relief efforts. The Argentine Republic reiterates its commitment to standing by Brazil during this tragic time.

The floods in Rio Grande do Sul have resulted in at least 85 deaths, 134 missing persons, and 339 injured individuals. Over 1.1 million people living in 385 municipalities have been impacted by the heavy rains, leading to shortages of food, medicine, and basic services such as water and energy supply.
