Rhett Lowder, Cincinnati’s 2023 First-Round Draft Pick, Advances to Double-A Chattanooga

Rhett Lowder, a right-handed pitching prospect for the Cincinnati Reds, has been promoted from High-A Dayton to Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. Lowder made five starts for the Dragons before his promotion. His professional debut with the Dayton Dragons in April was impressive, as he pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out five batters. During his time with Dayton, Lowder showcased a 2.49 ERA and 0.947 WHIP in 25 1/3 innings, with six walks, 29 strikeouts, and two home runs allowed.

Lowder’s strong performance earned him a spot on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 list in January, where he debuted at No. 34 and currently sits at No. 30. This promotion coincided with right-handed pitcher Paul Skenes, last year’s first overall pick, moving up from Triple-A Indianapolis to the Majors. Skenes is slated to make his first big-league start against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday at PNC Park.

Andrew Moore was also transferred from Chattanooga to Dayton as part of this move. Social media reactions to Lowder’s advancement have been positive, with fans and analysts acknowledging his progress and potential in the Reds’ farm system. The news of Lowder’s promotion has generated excitement among Cincinnati fans and baseball enthusiasts as they eagerly anticipate his continued success as he climbs through the ranks of the organization.

Rhett Lowder was selected as the seventh overall pick in the 2023 draft and is now looking forward to continuing his development in Chattanooga while building on his impressive performance so far in his professional career.

As fans eagerly await Lowder’s next move up through the ranks of Cincinnati’s farm system, they can take comfort knowing that he has already shown great potential on the mound at every level he has played so far.

Overall, Rhett Lowder is an exciting prospect for the Cincinnati Reds who is well on his way to becoming a major league star in Major League Baseball (MLB). With each passing day, he becomes closer to achieving that goal and making an impact on one of baseball’s most storied franchises.
