Crucial LPCAMM2 memory with LPDDR5X technology launched by Micron

Lenovo has unveiled its latest ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 laptop, which features the new Micron LPCAMM2 form factor for laptop memory. This innovative technology integrates LPDDR5X mobile memory and promises to enhance laptop performance for professionals and creators. The LPCAMM2 reduces active power consumption by up to 58% and occupies 64% less space than DDR5 SODIMMs, making it a game-changer for mobile workstation users who want high-performance memory without sacrificing upgradeability, power efficiency, or space.

Micron’s LPCAMM2 is designed to maximize bandwidth for AI workloads and applications by filling all 128 bits of CPU bus width with a single module. It supports faster speeds of up to 7,500MT/s, which are approximately 1.3 times faster than DDR5 SODIMMs and offers up to 80% less standby power. Additionally, unlike soldered-down memory, the LPCAMM2 modules are upgradeable, allowing users to increase memory capacity as needed.

The Crucial LPCAMM2 is currently available in two densities – 32GB and 64GB – and can be purchased exclusively through www.crucial.com. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty that guarantees its quality and reliability. With the integration of this cutting-edge technology into the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7, users can now enjoy higher performance, faster AI workflows, scalable memory capacity, and improved battery life for their mobile workstations and thin and light laptops.
