Revolutionizing Access Control: How Mobile Technologies are Transforming University Campus Security

Advancements in mobile technology are revolutionizing access control systems with major players like Samsung and Apple integrating wallet technologies. Geoffrey Kohl, the Senior Director of Marketing at the Security Industry Association, highlighted the importance of university campuses in testing these new technologies during a recent Experts Talk episode.

Kohl noted that university campuses provide an ideal environment for testing innovative technologies due to their rapidly changing student populations. He also emphasized the significance of events like ISC West, where industry leaders and innovators come together to showcase and discuss transformative technologies such as advancements in mobile technology.

University campuses were among the first to adopt these mobile technologies due to the turnover of students every few years. This turnover provides an excellent opportunity to test and refine new technologies in a real-world setting, making university campuses a valuable testbed for these advancements in mobile technology.
