Man destroys Miami Beach business window with table just days before closing – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Miami Beach Police are currently investigating a new surveillance video that shows a man vandalizing a local restaurant on Lincoln Road over the weekend. The incident took place at PAUL Bakery on Saturday night, and the video shows the man grabbing a table outside the bakery and throwing it at the business.

Vladimir Alfa, the owner of PAUL Bakery, expressed his disbelief at the unexpected act of vandalism. He described the incident as completely random and unprovoked. Despite this setback, Alfa is determined to keep his 17-year-old business afloat in Miami Beach. However, he is facing challenges such as doubled insurance costs, increased labor expenses, rising homelessness rates, and numerous closed stores in the area.

Alfa mentioned that empty stores, ongoing construction, and other factors have contributed to his decision to shut down his business. However, he noted that such incidents were uncommon during his years in business but represent a shift in the area’s ambiance. As a result of these challenges and recent crime incidents like this one, Alfa has become more frustrated about the changing environment in Miami Beach.

Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers or the authorities directly. Tips can be provided anonymously, and there may be a reward of up to $5,000 available for those who provide useful information leading to an arrest or conviction.
