Local business owners support petition against 2024 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix

A petition has been launched to stop the 2024 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix from happening. Local business owners, particularly those in the Resort Corridor near Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, are leading the charge. Ferraro’s Ristorante owner Gino Ferraro stated that the goal of the petition is to raise awareness among Las Vegas leaders about the negative economic impact and inconvenience that the Grand Prix brings to the city.

The businesses behind the petition claim to have lost over $30 million in profits due to months of F1 construction leading up to the inaugural Grand Prix and the Flamingo vehicle bridge over Koval Lane. They believe that the construction drove customers away and are concerned about the potential repeat of this scenario. This is why Ferraro and other business owners are rallying to gather signatures and support against Formula 1 to pressure Clark County into denying the special use permit needed for the race.

Support for the petition extends beyond just the business community, with residents like Ladane Hayten expressing frustration over added commute times and inconvenience caused by the Grand Prix. Hayten stated that he would be the first to sign the petition in support of blocking
