The Momentous Institute is set to host a free panel discussion and launch a toolkit to help families navigate the mental health crisis. Dr. Jessica Gomez, the Executive Director, underscores the importance of addressing mental health issues and reducing the stigma associated with it. Although there has been an increasing focus on mental health, there is still a need to improve access to services and educational opportunities.
Dr. Gomez emphasizes the prevalence rates of mental illness in the state and the lack of access to care, ranking last among all states. She stresses the importance of elevating the conversation around mental health and promoting strategies to cultivate mental wellness.
The institute will be hosting a free event on April 30th at 5:30 pm at Collin College Frisco Campus, where attendees will have the chance to win tickets to the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Players and caddies will have ways they maintain their mental health displayed on their bibs instead of their names. This event aims to raise awareness about the root causes of the mental health crisis and promote strategies for improving mental wellness.
