State SkillsUSA Competition: NCMC Team Takes First Place in Robotic Automation Technology

Keaton Pettlon and Zachary Walker from Maryville, both students of North Central Missouri College’s robotics automation technology team, recently emerged victorious in the Missouri SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology Competition held at State Tech in Linn. The team completed their contest in record time, becoming the only one to successfully complete their skill challenge.

Rick Sharp, an instructor at NCMC specializing in industrial technology, who guided the team, commended Pettlon and Walker for their exceptional performance. According to Sharp, they are strong competitors with great potential to excel at the national level.

Their success in the Missouri SkillsUSA competition has earned them a spot to compete at the National SkillsUSA conference in Atlanta, GA from June 24-28. Under Sharp’s guidance and support, they will now be competing among the top two percent of the nation in the Robotics Automation Technology contest. Sharp is optimistic about their prospects and believes that they have what it takes to bring home another victory at the national level.
