North Augusta’s softball team secured a dominant 11-8 victory over Midland Valley to win the series and claim the Region 4-AAAA title. The team’s impressive 10-1 record in the region continues their streak of region championships. This success has earned North Augusta a No. 1 seed and the opportunity to host their first playoff game on March 30th.

In the second game of the series, North Augusta’s offensive performance was lackluster, but they rebounded in the final game, scoring 11 runs on 13 hits. Pitcher LeAnn Gilbert played a crucial role in the victory, pitching 6.1 innings with six strikeouts and four walks.

North Augusta’s momentum regained following their strong performance against Airport, securing another region championship against Midland Valley. The team’s offensive prowess has been evident throughout the season, as exemplified by their consistent double-digit scoring outputs. Head coach Lindsey Jones emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and positivity during intense rival games. She highlighted the team’s supportive dugout environment, which drives motivation and maintains momentum during challenging situations.

As they head into the playoffs, facing opponents like Aiken, Lexington, and Chapin, North Augusta looks forward to hosting the fourth seed from Region 1-AAAA in the first round. Although the playoff bracket has yet to be released, the Jackets are optimistic about their prospects and aim to carry their energy and teamwork into postseason play.
