CompTIA Introduces New AI Essentials and Expansion Series for Campus Technology

CompTIA Launches New Learning and Certification Programs for AI Skills

CompTIA has announced the launch of its new learning and certification programs, the Essentials and Expansion series, designed to enhance and maintain AI skills. The series focuses on AI skills competencies in four tech career areas and roles: software development, cybersecurity, systems operations (SysOps), and data analytics, as well as two job roles: prompt engineering and AI systems architecture.

The Essentials Series is set to be released in July 2024 and is applicable to any occupation, including both tech-specific positions and adjacent occupations that rely on technology. It will cover the landscape of AI, available AI tools and best practices for using them, AI challenges and solutions, the benefits of AI for creativity and work enhancement, and the future implications of AI.

The Expansion Series goes beyond the basics and will focus on advanced skills and technology developments in specific job roles for those with a CompTIA Plus (+) or Pro certification in areas such as security engineering, penetration testing, security analysis, data analysis, systems operations, tech support, AI systems architecture, and prompt engineering. Future expansion releases will concentrate on skillsets for fully leveraging AI in these roles. These upcoming releases will cover topics such as cyber engineering, analytics, and pen testing.
