Netflix Introduces Roblox Universe Featuring ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘One Piece’

Netflix has partnered with Roblox to launch its own virtual theme park on the gaming platform. Dubbed “Nextworld,” this immersive web-based universe will showcase characters and content from Netflix’s intellectual property, including popular titles such as “Stranger Things,” “One Piece,” “Cobra Kai,” and “Rebel Moon.”

The Nextworld launch is set for early access on Wednesday, offering players a unique way to explore their favorite series and movies in depth. Immersive games like “Stranger Things: Escape from Hawkins High,” “One Piece: East Blue Brawls,” and “Rebel Moon: Outskirts Battles” will allow users to connect with beloved characters in new ways. Players may encounter familiar faces like Dustin, Luffy, and Jimmy from the respective shows, who will serve as guides through their worlds.

Roblox itself is free to use, but users can purchase virtual currency called Robux to buy items within the gaming platform. Netflix’s 3D interactive spaces in Nextworld feature various minigames, including one inspired by the competition series “Is It Cake?” and another where players can test their karate skills at the Cobra Kai Dojo. The Streamship allows users to participate in online events like premieres and viewing parties, such as the May 17 Jurassic World: Chaos Theory preview or watch daily content at the Tudum Theater.

As players navigate through Nextworld, they can collect objects and wearables from different shows and movies to decorate their Fan Pod, a private space that can be kept for personal use or shared with friends. By completing challenges and earning currency in Nextworld, players can expand their pod with exclusive items like limited User-Generated Content such as a Demogorgon Plushie Head or a One Piece Flag.
